The Beast
Although people talk about "The Beast," there is (or, rather, was) more than one beast. The first beast, Xanadu, was discovered in the cellar by Lilly Thorn in 1903. After a series of unfortunate events, Xanadu had several children with Maggie Kutch and Maggie's daughter Agnes. Xanadu's children Seth and Jason, along with Xanadu himself, were subsequently killed, but there are rumors that one or more of their offspring survives. The beasts are white, hairless creatures with fangs, sharp claws, and "spear-like tongues". Their faces have slanted eyes, noses that are reminiscent of a pig's. They have holes with flaps over them instead of ears. Beasts have been described as "fish-bellied" and they walk upright in the manner of a human. It is said that the beasts' privates are of unusual dimension and function, and some hint of this can be seen in the photo above. For some time the preserved corpse of a beast was on display at the Beast House Museum, but it has been lost. |
